I need to pay more attention to the crapola that goes into this thing. People actually read it (I know, I was shocked. And I'm sure you're saying 'Well duh', since you're reading it now. Let's not fo there).
Well, last weekend was interesting, in a distant, passive sort of way. The Queen came to Adelaide last week (That's the queen of Australia, who also happens to be the queen of England). Aparently she wore yellow. And... that's pretty much what I heard.
CHOGM (Commonwealth heads of government meeting) also started, but was cut short because of Zimbabwe. If you don't know what an African country has to do with that rather ammusing acronym... Well, you're about on par with me. Learning new things every day.
And, on the more fun side, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian mardi-gras was last weekend. No, I wans't there. Wrong part of the country. I watched a bit of it on TV though. I'd like to see the Mardi-gras of New Orleans some time, so I can compare them. I mean, I doubt they have bishops throwing out condoms... Oh wait, maybe they do.
Finally, we here in Adelaide had many artsy and cultural events thanks to the Fringe and the Adelaide Festival. Much fun was to be had by all.
I went to the art gallery on an excursion to see the Art meets science exhibition. Mostly to see Fiona Halls new work, but some of the other stuff was cool to. One reallt freaked me out. You touched the needle, blood appeared and pained noises were made. No one could hold on for very long. I tried, I kept flinching away. Damn Social Conditioning!
Hall's work was really cool though. There were glass beads made into awesome shapes (Like the back legs of a frog, a fern or a penis even) and attatched to tuperware containers to give them support. The jellyfish was cool.
That should do for now, yes? More to come when news developes ^_^;
