A Momentary Lapse
Pure disorientation. My last lecture finished an hour early. I was asleep, so I woke up looking around, tinking it should be break time and discovering that, no, class was indeed dismissed. And I tried not to sleep this time. But once I started paying attention, the complete lack of anything that made sense and my 4 hours of stored sleep knocked me right out. Why doesn't that happen at night? I need to tape these lectures and play them when I'm trying to get to sleep.
I have a test for this subject next week. I'm gonna die.
Seriously though, I honnestly don't get anything in this subject. I need to... I don't know, but it's gonna take a lot to get me through this one intact.
Okay, enough whining. I noticed something recently. Sometimes, album titles make really good titles for characters. The first time I noticed this was when we were looking for a title for Renn, and I had 'piper at the gates of dawn' on the brain. So she became 'Watcher at the Gates of Dawn'. Well, I started looking at some other Pink Floyd albums. 'Obscured By Clouds', 'Delicate Sound of Thunder', 'Darkside', even 'Atom Heart Mother' and 'Division Bell' if you wanna get wierd. And my brain made 'Pulse' into 'Heartwood Pulse'. Cause I like trees, k? K.
But there's also song titles. And since I'm on Pink Floyd right now, I'll stick with them. 'Cluster One' sounds like a spaceship. (which reminds me, had a bizarre urge to draw mecha. Can't actually draw mecha. Go figure.) 'Pig on the Wing'. 'Old Sun'. 'Breathe Reprise' (sonds like a story title to me), 'Crazy Diamond', 'Dogs of War', 'One of Few', 'Two Suns in the Sunset', 'The Hero Returns' (Also makes me think of 'The Hero Reborn', which was a chapter in Terranigma, and that wonderful line from the Dueno Ellergies. "Remember, the hero lies on - even his downfall was merely a pretext for achieving his final birth."), 'Pillow of winds', 'Fearless Echoes' (that one's a combination of two songs), 'Terminal Frost', 'Signs of Life', 'Crying Song', 'The Gold it's in', 'Burning Bridges', 'Astronomy Domine ' (Come on, that's cool), 'Lucifer Sam' (:: giggle ::), 'The Heart of the Sun', 'Storm Signal', 'Celestial Voices', 'Thin ice' and 'Blue Sky Empty Spaces' (Another combination).
Oh, and just because I love the title of this song - 'Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave andGrooving With a Pict'.
The moral of the story is try old bands first, methinks ^_^! I should do this with some other bands some other time.
"You can lose yourself this night
See inside there is nothing to hide
Turn and face the light "
